Climate activists change tactics in the face of lockdowns

The effects of coronavirus and the subsequent lockdowns have stalled the momentum of the environmental movement including physical marches and school strikes. However, activists and environmentalists are still finding creative and eye catching ways to bring the issues surrounding climate change to the fore.
In Zurich, activists placed rows of shoes, boots and sandals across the city’s main square to highlight those who have made a habit of protesting every Friday. Organisers were keen to highlight that they respect the current situation and need to physically distance, but felt it was important to continue to highlight the much larger crisis of climate change that the planet is facing.
